Edibles

Giving Bakers a Run for Their Money

It’s the flavor-meets-function collaboration of the century: bakers and cultivators. Compared to smoking or vaping cannabis, edibles have a slower onset time and longer-lasting effects, which can make them challenging to dose (know your limits, folks). Edibles can come in many different forms, including baked goods, candies, chocolates, tinctures, topicals, beverages, and much more. They’re a discreet and convenient way to consume “the good stuff.”

Understanding the Difference

THC Edibles

When it comes to edibles, the main difference between CBD and THC edibles is the cannabinoid content. CBD edibles don’t contain any THC, while THC edibles contain THC and varying amounts of CBD. The effects of THC edibles can be more intense and longer-lasting than those of inhaled THC, and they can take longer to take effect — often up to two hours or more after consumption.

CBD Edibles

Unlike THC, CBD edibles do not produce psychoactive effects and can be used to balance out, or take the edge off, the psychoactive effects of THC edibles.

What’s the Hype Around Edibles?

Here at Budr, we’re big fans of edibles. Unlike smoking or vaping, edibles provide a longer-lasting and more intense high or therapeutic effect. This is because the cannabinoids are metabolized by the liver and absorbed into the bloodstream over a longer period of time. They’re also convenient and discreet, which appeals for a lot of our customers. They don’t draw attention the way vapes and joints do and can be taken on the go. Beyond the lower profile of these yummy treats, edibles provide a smoke-free alternative for consuming cannabis. For many, smoking cannabis can be harsh on the lungs and cause respiratory issues.
