Concentrates

Cannabis in Its Purest Form

Concentrates take center stage if you’re thinking about the flower as a whole. When you take away the impurities, you’re left with pure cannabinoids and terpenes. Cannabis concentrates are highly potent extracts made from the cannabis plant and can contain much higher levels of THC than traditional forms of cannabis. There are many ways to enjoy the calming, euphoric, and energizing effects concentrates can bring such as adding it into a pre-roll, sprinkling it over a packed bowl, or the most common way: dabbing, or consuming concentrated forms of cannabis — dabs — that come in a variety of textures.

Types of Concentrates

Budder

Budder, or Budr for the sake of our company, is a wax-like cannabis concentrate that is made by extracting the resin from the flower using a solvent, such as butane or CO2, and then purging the solvent from the final product. The end result? A creamy, butter-like wax that is rich in cannabinoids and terpenes. Budder, and most concentrates, is typically consumed by dabbing and remains a crowd-pleaser due to its high potency and intense flavor profile, which can vary depending on the strain of cannabis used in the extraction process.

Crumble

What sets crumble apart from other concentrates is its unique texture, which is dry and crumbly, hence the name. Crumble is typically more brittle and easier to break apart than other concentrates, making it a popular choice for those who like to sprinkle their concentrate on top of bowls or mix it into joints. It’s highly potent, containing around 70%-80% THC, and has an intense flavor and aroma. Many tokers enjoy their crumble by dabbing, which involves heating the concentrate on a hot surface and inhaling the vapor through a dab rig. It can also be used to make edibles or added to joints or bowl packs.

Shatter

Shatter is a translucent, smooth, glass-like concentrate with a high potency that’s quite frankly earth shattering. The terpene extract in shatter maximizes the flavor experience and typically contains 80%-90% THC. Be gentle with this concentrate, though. The name is derived from its brittle texture, which can shatter into pieces when dropped or broken apart.

You know how the saying goes: a little dab will do ya. Please consume all concentrates with caution. Due to their high potency, concentrates should be consumed in small amounts.

Terpenes

We’re about to nerd out. Cannabis terpenes are organic compounds found in the essential oils of the cannabis plant. That amazing smell and flavor found in cannabis? Yeah, that’s what terpenes are responsible for. They also play a role in the overall effects that any strain produces. There are over 100 different terpenes that have been identified in the cannabis plant, each with its own characteristics and potential benefits.

Cannabinoids

Cannabinoids are a group of chemical compounds found in the cannabis plant. There are over 100 different cannabinoids that have been identified in cannabis, but the most well-known and researched ones are THC and CBD. THC binds to cannabinoid receptors in the brain, producing a range of effects, including altered perception, euphoria, and relaxation. When combined with terpenes, they form a synergy that creates a stronger effect than they would have individually.
