Nicknamed “Bean Town” early on for the quality of the beans grown there, Danbury eventually became the center of America’s hat production during the nineteenth century, earning the new nickname “Hat City.” Today, Danbury is dedicated to becoming greener and is now among the best places to live in the United States.
